Creative Development Program

A broken crayon still colours.
The Mustard Seed Youth Home’s Creative Development Program encourages boys to embrace their individuality and channel their energy in unique and creative ways.

While the primary focus is on music and dance, the boys learn theory of music, how to tune a guitar, and how to play songs. Playing piano in correct pose, they learn to read sheet music and to understand rhythm and beat.
​
In 2018, the Creative Development Program will establish a music band that hopes to perform on stage at the Christmas party.

The program also teaches the boys new ways of thinking, how to shape new perspectives and make better personal connections, which means that they can find solutions to life’s everyday challenges.

By providing a safe and structured environment for the boys to pursue their talents in non-academic ways, the program helps build self-confidence and personal pride. Ultimately, broadening their opportunities for employment and long-term success.
The passionate teachers promote the gift of opportunity, guiding the boys to take every chance, and to rise above fear.
